An excellent list in terms of details and coverage...the only sobering thought for Indian entrepreneurs lining up to meet these VCs is that most, if not all, of the names that you have mentioned have been in (or "in and out of"!) India for well over a year but actual investments have been few and far in between (well... none, if you discount the travel and matrimonial portals!)...

Hi Mark

Welcome to India. Congrats on the decision to invest in my country. I'd like to know if you accept business plans directly or work through referrals.

Just a case of too much money chasing too few "good" ideas (good as defined by the VCs).

Just got back from vacation, I have been visiting India for about 2.5 years and wanted to make sure i understood the market context well before making a number of investments. We have invested in Tejas as a firm and are about to make another investment. I don't want to speak for the other firms but i think that many other vc's want to do their homework before they start actively investing.

C Ramesh,
Referrals are always better, but am willing to accept plans directly.

I just bumped into your blog from Venturebeat.

Thanks for listing VCs who are looking into India (more specifically how they are approaching India investment)
